Adventist
Television (ATV53) is not a new channel on Cable Bahamas but
instead a new opportunity making it possible to broadcast
local programming on the local 3ABN Channel for several
hours each week.
On January
10, 2010, ATV53 received from The Utilities Regulation &
Competition Authority - URCA.
the official permission/license to operated the television
channel.
"Undeniably,
television technology represents one of the most powerful
means of transmitting the gospel locally and abroad. For
this reason, we welcomed the opportunity to enter into an
arrangement with Cable Bahamas, a local cable company in the
Bahamas, to insert a few hours of local programming into the
time allotted for 3ABN on channel 53.
We began the
transition process by performing an initial testing which
went well. We are therefore pleased to announce that we
have switched from channel 11 to channel 53.
Viewers now may
watch Adventist Spotlight each Friday between 8:00 P.M. and
9:00 P.M. and 9:30 and 10:00 P.M. on Channel 53 and a repeat on Sabbath between
2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. Adventists Speak also can be viewed
on Channel 53 each Sunday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Our
plan is to start small with possibly four (4) hours during
the weekend and increase with time as we master the process"
Five hours
each weekend we will interrupt 3ABN 24/7 programming to
insert our local programs. See the schedule below. |

Watch on Channel 53 at
the following times for the local programs: Adventists Speak,
Adventist Spotlight, and Local News Update
- Fridays 9 p.m.
to 11 p.m. Church Service, Sabbath School Discussion,
Music, Adventist Spotlight, News, and more
- Saturdays 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m. Repeat of Friday's broadcast
- Sundays, 1 p.m.
to 2 p.m. Adventists Speak
