- Pastor Kwadwo Owusu Boateng Ordained
On
Sabbath afternoon, January 19, 2002, Pastor Kwadwo Owusu Boateng was
ordained to the gospel ministry at the Grant’s Town Seventh-day Adventist
Church. Pastor Boateng, 42, is a Bahamian resident and was born in the
Ashanti Region of Gahana in West Africa. His wife, Marva Collins of Nassau,
is a teacher by profession. Pastor and Mrs. Boateng are currently serving in
South Andros as the district pastor there. They have two growing, energetic
boys, Komali Kwasi Adjei and Sadven Kwasi Oti Boateng.
Pastor, Boateng spent his formative years under the Christian guidance of
his parents. Because of the influence of his father and a few miraculous
experiences, he became determined to serve the church as a Seventh-day
Adventist pastor.
His journey in preparation to become a minister began in 1975 at the Wesley
Teacher Training College where he became a certified teacher. They he went on to
the Adventist Seminary of West Africa (now Babcock University), Nigeria, West
Africa. Further education:
- 1985-1986 Vaxjo University, Vaxjo, Sweden, Europe
- 1986-1988 Northern Caribbean University (NCU) - BA in Religion
- 1993 -1997 Andrews University - MA Religion

From 1978 to 1983 Pastor Boateng worked as a teacher in Nigeria, and then
went to NCU to study religion. While at NCU he became a student teacher in the
high school, president of the African Student Association, and worked as a
Literature Evangelist each summer.

He came to the Bahamas in 1988 as a Colporteur and then was employed to teach
at the Bahamas Academy Elementary School. He was later employed in the Bahamas
Conference as an intern served as associate pastor at several churches in
Nassau. In 1998 he was transferred to Eleuthera to serve as a district
pastor. In 2000 Pastor Boateng and his family went to South Andros
to minister to the churches there.
Pastor Boateng bobbies are table tennis, lawn tennis, reading, computers,
photography and soccer.
