The Smith Family

February 18 to March 22, 2006.

The Family Enrichment Series ended on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, with a spirit-filled, power-packed service, lead by Dr. Alanzo Smith.  Twenty-three persons were baptized at the end of the service bringing the total baptized during the series to 360.  Dr. Smith's stimulating and new approach to evangelism was enriched with a good sense of humor, creativity, stimulating visual aids, helpful scientific information and sound Biblical teaching.  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, he captivated hundreds each night with topics that touched the hearts of the listeners.

Dr. Alanzo Smith is Director of Family Life and Communication Ministries at the Greater New York Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He has been a minister of the Gospel for the past 29 years.  In addition to his professional training in ministry, Dr. Smith has completed a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.

His ministry includes working as a pastor, an evangelist, a marriage & family counselor, an adjunct professor at Atlantic Union College, and a contract teacher at Andrews University. Dr. Smith the writer has written several articles and three books, his most recent “Abandoned in Brandon: A journey of Faith, Hope & Courage.” As an Evangelist, he has conducted successful evangelistic campaigns in the United States, Canada, England, and the West Indies.

His wife, Dr. June Smith, is a professor at Long Island University, a Certified Social Worker, and a National Certified Counselor. She also has a private practice. They have one grown daughter Lyn, who is a Nurse Educator at Winthrop University Hospital, New York.

Prayer Coordinator

When She Prays

When she prays lives are changed. When her soft and determined voice sends petitions to God, listeners are touched. She is a gifted prayer warrior for her Savior. Mrs. Cynthia Campbell is the praying evangelist for the Family Enrichment Series. She travels around the world with Dr. Alanzo Smith wherever he conducts evangelistic meetings to provide prayer power for the meetings. Each night before Dr. Smith begins to preach, Mrs. Campbell gives a sincere prayer while placing her hand on his head as a symbol of blessing and dedication for the night’s presentation. She has a special gift of working with young people. Her welcoming and non-judgmental demeanor attracts many youth to her to ask questions, make request for prayers, and for advise and encouragement. She has been successful in helping to transform broken lives and wounded souls at the Family Enrichment Series, Nassau. Affectionately called “Mom” by Dr. Alanzo Smith, she is truly a special woman of God. Mrs. Campbell, Jamaican born, resides in Calgary, Canada, where she and husband, Headley Campbell, share actively in ministry to the young and the old.  SEE PHOTOS
