- It Pays
to Serve Jesus
- Theme song for the Sweet
Redemptive Crusade
The service of Jesus true pleasure
affords,
In Him there is joy without an alloy;
"Tis Heaven to trust Him and rest on His words;
It pays to serve Jesus each day.
Refrain
It pays to serve
Jesus, it pays every day,
It pays every step of the way,
Though the pathway to glory may sometimes be drear,
You’ll be happy each step of the way.
It pays to serve Jesus whate’er may
betide,
It pays to be true whate’er you may do;
’Tis riches of mercy in Him to abide;
It pays to serve Jesus each day.
Though sometimes the shadows may
hang o’er the way,
And sorrows may come to beckon us home,
Our precious Redeemer each toil will repay;
It pays to serve Jesus each day.

A Pentecost and More Explosion
[March 17,
2008 p.m.] Three hundred and forty-five baptisms and a new church.
Yes! Spiritual excitement is in the air in The Bahamas
Conference. On Sunday night, March 17, 2008,
345 individuals became new members of the Bahamas Conference of
Seventh-day Adventists. A new church was formed and was
given the name Redemption Seventh-day Adventist Church.
There were two island-wide crusades that
were conducted simultaneously on the island of New Providence.
First, the “Quand Plus Rien Ne Va: Un Grand Réveil Spirituel” with
Evangéliste Arbentz A. Pierre-Antoine began on Sunday, February,
17, 2008. Three Haitian Adventist Churches in Nassau participated in
the crusade. There were 118 individuals baptized in this crusade.
The guest speaker, Pastor Antoine, is a pastor for a Haitian
Adventist Church in Maryland, USA.
The other
crusade on New Providence was the Sweet Redemptive Crusade which
began on Saturday night, February 16, 2008. Twenty-two English
speaking Adventist Churches in Nassau joined forces to have
this grand evangelistic series. Pastor Wilmoth James, youth
director for the North Caribbean Conference, St Croix, US Virgin
Islands, was the speaker. There were 205 individuals baptized in that crusade.
There were
three other crusades being conducted simultaneously on the Family
Islands in The Bahamas. First, Pastor Wendell McMillan
led out at the Lowe Sound Seventh-day Adventist Church, Lowe Sound,
Andros, where fifteen (15) individuals were baptized. Pastor
McMillan is the field secretary and Stewardship Director of the West
Indies Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Second,
Pastor Edward St Fleur conducted in series in North Eleuthera
among the Haitian Community where four (4) persons were baptized.
Third,
Pastor Valentino Campbell, the new resident pastor for Landrail
Point, Crooked Island, conducted a two week series at the Landrail
Point Church were two (2) individuals were baptized.
In addition,
Pastor Leroy Sewell, the non-resident pastor for Cat Island
had two baptisms during the series.
On Sabbath
afternoon, March 15, 2008, the administrators of the Bahamas
Conference (Pastors Johnson and Clarke) officially organized the new
Adventist Church: Redemption Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor
Kent Price is the pastor of the new church. Some of the charter
members are: Lebert McBean (head elder), Patrick Sands (elder),
Miriam Knowles (Sabbath School Superintendent), Mary Whyte (Bible
Worker), Altamae
Knowles (Bible Worker), and others. The new church will be worshiping in the Bahamas Academy
Auditorium until a permanent structure is found.
The new
members are excited about their new church. The Sweet Redemptive
Crusade brought a fresh breath of air to many Adventists spiritual
lives as they listened to the clear, direct teachings of Pastor
Wilmoth James. Also, the Adventist Haitians displayed a high level
of enthusiasm as they participated in the “Un Grand Réveil
Spirituel” each night. Their faces expressed the joy of their love
for Jesus. They were really blessed by the preaching of Pastor
Antoine. The new Haitian members will be joining the three Haitian
Adventist Churches on the island of New Providence (Bethel,
Ebenezer, and Franchophone). The pastors are
Fritz Gerald
Francois and Leonardo Rahming. The Conference administrative
supervisor is C. Melvin Lewis.
Since January
1, 2008, a total of 460 individuals have been baptized. To God be
the glory! During the first month of 2008 (before Pentecost and
More Crusades) 115 individuals were baptized.

| Many Respond
to Appeal for Baptism March 2, 2008 |
On Sunday night,
March 1, 2008, more than 1500 packed the giant white tent to listen
to the message entitled "Chicken Soup." Beginning the night’s
meeting was the Men’s Concert when many males (young and old)
soloists, quartets and groups blessed the listeners with beautiful
singing. The Adventist Men’s Coral touched out hearts will a few
musical rhythmic selections.
The surprise guest for the evening was
Jechonias James,
the son of Pastor Wilmoth James, who played a beautiful song on his
saxophone entitled "Jesus, You're the Center of My Joy. He
played the saxophone with ease and professional comfort. Many could
be heard singing along while he played.
At the end of the
concert a special treat for the evening was the introduction Pastor
Wilmoth James by a little five-year-old boy who read with clarity
and a firm voice his introduction. The message was about the
Millennium. Once again Pastor James systematically unfolded the
truth from the Bible about a often miss understood topic. He
explained all there needs to know about hell, death, and the second
coming and the one thousand years of desolation on the earth. Pastor
James illustrated with the use of the flip chart, that there will be
only two groups on the earth at the end of time. The wicked dead and
alive and the living dead and alive. He stressed that we must choose
to be on the side of life through Jesus Christ.
At the end of the sermon Pastor James
made this first appeal for baptism since the crusade begin on
February 16, 2008. As contralto soloist, Allison Rolle sang "Just as
I am Without One Plea," scores of individuals responded to the call
to be baptized as Adventist Christians on Sabbath March 15, 2008,
the Day of Pentecost and More.
The baptism will be held at the Western Esplanade, Bay Street,
Nassau. |

| Marriage, the
Sabbath, and The Cross March 1, 2008 |
The
sermon on Saturday night, March 1, 2008, was powerful and
life-changing. The topic was "The Preacher Licked it Clean. The
Deacon Beat it Lean. Uye! Iee!" However, after listening to the more
than one hour presentation I can easily rename it "Marriage, the
Sabbath, and the Cross." Pastor Wilmoth James at the Sweet
Redemptive Crusade explained like and gifted teacher, and a
spirit-filled preacher, the meaning and truth about the Sabbath.
Perhaps Pastor James most vivid illustration that is etched in my
mind is the one about marriage, the Sabbath and the cross.
He demonstrated with props and imagery
how God created the earth in six days and that humans were created
on the sixth day and the seventh-day was the Sabbath. When Christ
died his death and burial was on the sixth day (Friday), the day
humans were created. This was done, said Pastor James, to show that
Jesus’ death was to redeem the fall race back to the place of glory
and grace. Then Jesus remained the grave on the Sabbath day, a day
so rest and worship to honor that Holy day.
After the meaningful illustration,
Pastors James called for all married couples to come forward to
renew their vows. It was 9:15 p.m. and not one felt the length of
the sermon. It was truly inspiring. More than 100 couples came
forward to renew their and to vows express their renewal with a
passionate kiss. It was a beautiful site as the husband and wives
looked lovingly in each other’s eyes, standing close together with
clasped hands, and saying "I do." It was truly the best sermon I’ve
heard on "Marriage, the Sabbath, and the Cross."
You can
watch
the entire sermon online right now or at your convenience. Feel free
to drag the streaming button along to skip parts of the service if
you wish. Go here to

Hundreds Packed Tent To Enjoy Concert and to Listen to the Truth
about the Sabbath on Saturday night, February 23, 2008.
|
[Sabbath,
February 23, 2008] Some of the best Adventist
musicians participated in the first of three Sweet Redemptive Gospel
Concerts on Saturday night to an overflowing crowd. Surprise
guest artist was Linda James, the wife the evangelist, J. Wilmoth
James. She blessed the hearts of the listeners with the song "We
Shall Behold Him" The sermon on Saturday night:
"Honey, darling, Doo! Doo! Yes, you can! Yes, you can!," was a
detailed discourse on the truth about the Sabbath. With the use of
graphic, photos, and live demonstrations, he made it very clear to
the listeners which day was the Seventh-day Sabbath.
Linda James, a native of St Thomas, is a teacher at the Adventist
School in St Croix, US Virgin Islands.

| Sex and
Marriage: "Why the Devil Hates Sex?" |
[February 24, 2008] On Sunday
night, February 24, 2008, Pastor Wilmoth James preached to a large
crowd on the subject "Why the Devil Hates Sex?" This was a hot
and spicy subject as Pastor James tastefully explored the subject of
sex between married couples. He emphasized that God made sex
to be among married couples only. He gave graphic information,
tools and techniques to help married couples become better sex
partners. The crowd sat on the edge of their seats and their
ears were tickled as Pastor James shocked them with his practical
information from the Bible and contemporary literature. A
special feature on Sunday night was seeing who will be the best
dressed couple under the tent. Two couples came on stage and
received the prizes. It was truly a wonderful night.

[February 24, 2008]
Hundreds of men, women, and children came early to the Sweet
Redemptive Crusade tent site on Sunday night February 24, 2008, to
get a complete health check up. Blood pressure and blood sugar
screening, heart check, computerized longevity profile, back
massages, and much more provided a buzz of excitement for more than
one hour before the song service began. It was thrilling to watch
the volunteer Adventists and friends of Adventist who came to assist
in conducting the health expo. The Health Expo comes before a unique
feature of the Sweet Redemptive Crusade begins on Monday night at
Bahamas Academy: The Eight Weeks to Wellness Program. Almost two
hundred individuals have registered to participate in the eight
