Bahamian Appointed Director of Ellen White–Adventist Research Center
Dr. Martin F. Hanna was appointed as the first Director of Ellen White--Seventh-day Adventist Research Center (EGW-SDARC) ) at Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville, Jamaica. This center is one of the twelve centers around the world operated by the White Estates of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The center will be housed in the Hiram S. Walters Resource Center. This center will serve the English speaking countries of the Inter-American Division. More than $40,000US worth of materials, sponsored by IAD, will be on hand when the center is opened officially by officers of the GC White Estate on July 10, 2003. Dr. Hanna’s responsibility will be to manage the resources of the research center, answer questions about Ellen White and Adventist theology and History. The supervisory committee of the EGW-SDARC is chaired by Pastor Leon Wellington of the Inter-American Division. Dr. Hanna is happily married to Henrietta, professor of nursing at NCU. They have two college students, Pharez, majoring in information computer technology, and Melody, who will be continuing her degree in architecture at Andrews University this summer.  Their youngest son, Zachary, is now six years old.   Dr. Hanna is the eldest child of Pastor Royden and Madeline Hanna of Nassau, Bahamas.
