Health Expo 2004

The Lord wishes above all that His people may prosper and be in health. With this mandate in mind, the Health Ministries Department and Better Living Health Centre hosted the Seventh Annual Health Extravaganza on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at The Mall at-Marathon. This well-attended health display made a significant impact on the audience and on-lookers.

Dr. John Carey, a former Health Ministries Director of the Conference delivered the Opening Remarks and declared the Health Extravaganza open. Other participants included Pastor Michael Smith, Ministerial Director of Bahamas Conference, who prayed of God to bless the gathering, and Mr. James Clarke, a guest presenter talked about the effect and control of diabetes.

The pulse was right, the heartbeat was perfect, the adrenal rush was adequate. From 5:00 p.m. to closing time, the exhibition attracted thousands people from all walks of life. This included health professionals, the health-conscious and the curious.

Many persons in the audience expressed their satisfaction with positive comments on the effort of the church to sensitize the public to health care and health needs of our nation. Also, some people enquired about ways of procuring vegetarian products and preparing vegetarian meals.

The health enthusiasts, as well as the curious observers, ate freely of the nutritious and tastefully prepared vegetarian meals that were displayed at various booths. Trained health workers took blood pressure, gave massages, and conducted diabetes and cholesterol tests. Of course, more members were inducted into the 'Be Healthy, Be Happy Club.'

The children and adults were treated to an interesting puppet show which presented ideas and principles of health and nutrition in a manner that the children could understand and appreciate. Above all, this event was a powerful outreach tool to introduce men, women and children to the Greatest Physician that anyone could ever have. Many thanks to the following persons and institutions that made this extravaganza a success:
