| Sabbath, June 25, 2008, at 5: 30
p.m. we be the third Adventist Hymn Festival in the Bahamas
Conference. This festival will be a part of
the Mid-Year
Convention 2008. Join us
as we celebrate hymns of the church. Church choirs in the
Bahamas Conference will be singing select hymns from the
Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal. Here are the goals of the
festival. First, to keep the hymns of the church alive.
Second, to introduce new hymns for use in our services.
Third, to model the use of the Adventist Hymnal book for choir
specials, solos, and other musical renditions in our churches
services.
Each church choir will be assigned
as least one song of which they are to create an arrangement for
performance. The congregation and soloists will also be
involved.
You will be blessed as we learn new
hymns and celebrate the old ones we haven't sang in decades.
The first Adventist Hymn Festival
in the Bahamas was in 1986, one year after the new Adventist
Hymnal was introduced to the world church at the 1985 General Conference Session.
It was held in the Bahamas Academy Gym. The second Hymn
Festival was held in 1998 at the Hillview Church.
