From the Office of The President
Believe it or not, it has been a month since the historic 58th session of the General Conference held in St. Louis, Missouri. Many of you continue to reminisce on your experiences and new acquaintances. One can only imagine what it will be like in heaven when we see Jesus and our spiritual brothers and sisters from every race and nation.

Youth Camp Revival Today marks the end of the first week in August, signaling fewer weeks to the opening of schools or the return to college. It also signals the end of an exciting youth camp meeting with Pastor Leo C. Rolle, one of our senior pastors and a former administrator of our Conference. Equally inspirational were the music and special features done in youth style that appealed to all ages. On behalf of my colleagues in administration, I commend Pastor Andrew Burrows and the faithful team of youth officers for an exceptional week of spiritual emphasis.

Youth Outdoor Camp The excitement is not over yet; for the Youth Department sponsors its annual camp beginning tomorrow in Central Andros. By now you would have registered yourself and teenager. I am told that there will be lots of surprises and activities youth style in Central Andros. Pray for good weather and the safety of our youth.

Admiral's Boat Building Camp
Believe it or not, it has been a week since the conclusion of Admiral's Boat Building Camp which proved successful. Next year's session, which is being planned already, will be bigger and better as a result of the pledged support. Of course, there were numerous Vacation Bible Schools and related activities. Thanks to all organizers ensuring wholesome activities for our youth!

Acklins & Cat Islands' Outreach July will also be remembered for a significant evangelistic campaign in Lovely Bay, Acklins. Pastor Roy Hanna, a retired pastor and conference administrator along with his brother-in-law, Brother Orthneil Darling, their spouses and other descendants of Acklins decided to forgo General Conference in order to have a July launch. And launch they did! This outreach resulted in 8 baptized believers. In fact, more persons signed up for baptism but were pressured to do otherwise. Nevertheless, the work for these persons will continue.
Lest I forget, commendations are also in order to Pastor Owusu Boateng who was assisted in Cat Island by Pastor Jeremiah Duncombe and young Terry Tanis, former conference president and theology student, respectively. Reports indicate 2 baptisms and additional baptisms are likely to take place today. Pray for a break through today. Following the summer break and vacations, numerous church crusades will be conducted ensuring that the spirit of evangelism continues to burn within our conference.

Bahamas Academy Leadership Update Over at Bahamas Academy, interim principal, Dr. Cheryl Rolle and her staff continue to prepare for the new school year. Some of you have been asking if there is an administrative team in place. The answer is yes. As noted in the initial communiqué, Dr. Cheryl Rolle, acting principal, will be assisted by the other administrators. Additionally, a search committee appointed by the School Board and Conference Committee will convene a meeting next week to look at applicants for the positions advertised. Pray much for the members of the search committee as they do their job. In the meanwhile, I continue to solicit the financial support of all of our members for the ongoing efforts of VBA members to construct a new Bahamas Academy on Marshall Road. I urge that you visit the site, and if you are able, do assist physically. You may be pleased to know that The Heritage Singers who will be itinerating in Nassau October 11-14 have offered to do a benefit concert for the School. More information is to follow.

Prayers and Condolences Believe it or not, in the midst of all of our blessings, the saints of God continue to be afflicted. Yes, Brother Carter Williams and others need our prayers for healing. He is at PMH. Also, tomorrow, among the funerals to be held will be one for Sister Ellen Carey who along with her husband has ministered to many of our members. Our condolences go out to the family. Have a happy Sabbath and be faithful!
