North Bahamas Mission President Dies
The Albury family regrets to inform you that on January 24, 2006 at 5:37 p.m., Dr. Keith Densel Albury fell asleep in the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr Keith D. Albury, 48, President of the North Bahamas Mission of Seventh-day Adventists (serving the North Bahamas, comprising of Grand Bahama, Abaco, Bimini and Berry Islands), and former President of The Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (serving the Central and South Bahamas), succumbed to a cardiac arrest following surgery in Scottsdale Hospital, Arizona.

Today we take comfort in the words of Paul who said: "…I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20
Pastor Errol Tinker, Executive Secretary of the North Bahamas Mission and Acting President, Pastor Leonard Johnson, President of The Bahamas Conference, other administrators, pastors, and members of the Adventist churches in The Bahamas, extend deepest condolences to Ann, Pastor Albury’s wife, his sons, Anson, Alden, Brendon, parents, brother, sisters, other relatives and friends.

Also extending sympathies to the family is Pastor Patrick Allen, President of West Indies Union of Seventh-day Adventists, of which the Bahamas Conference and The North Bahamas Mission are members. He is joined by all the leaders of the fields of West Indies Union (Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Cayman Island) and The Inter American Division.

Pastor Albury, a great leader and minister of the gospel, was certainly a man of God who loved to share the gospel of Christ to others. He is also widely remembered for the sermon he delivered at the memorial service of our former Prime Minister and Adventist member, Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling. His spirit, drive, and stamina made him an outstanding administrator and visionary leader. Undoubtedly, he was one of the great Bahamian spiritual leaders of our time.
The family wishes to thank the church membership-at-large for your continued prayers during our most trying time. We are left to cherish the timeless words of our husband, father, son, and brother: "While longevity on earth is a worthy goal, eternity with God is more precious."

Massive Prayer Walk There will be a massive Prayer Walk and Flyer Distribution at 4:00 p.m. today at Hillview. On February 4 (next Sabbath) there will be a MEGA RALLY for the Family Enrichment Series, at 4:00 p.m. at Hillview.

Twenty Days to Go
Today marks 20 days to the opening of possibly the biggest gospel campaign ever to be conducted in our conference. Dubbed The Family Life Enrichment Series with Evangelist Alanzo Smith, it is anticipated that thousands of persons will attend these meetings, and likewise thousands of families will be impacted positively. This no doubt will augur well for our country, given the many social ills and issues that we currently face. Some may ask how we can be so positive and expectant of such results. Well, if we were serious about our week of “Meat in the Word,” and I believe that we were, then it’s fair to assume that God will bless our efforts remarkably. The prayers, sermons and acts of faith and commitment must now translate into active and deliberate involvement in this effort. That is to say that we now move to the next level of inviting and ensuring that transportation is provided for all our prospects. Additionally, we must challenge God to give us those members of our family and neighborhood who are non-members and who once embraced Christ and the Faith. Our prayer must be specific if the results are to be what we expect!

‘Meat’ In The Word Last week’s revival will long be remembered as a spiritual high within our conference. The presenter and the delivery of the Word could be classified as anointed. No one can deny that there is power in God’s Word, and when we allow His Word to do its work, God gets the glory, and His people are blessed. The Administration commends Pastor Joseph for his preparation, devotion and execution of God’s Word. Additionally, we commend him for the School of Evangelism initiative. We also commend all of our directors who are involved in the training of our lay brethren. For Pastor Joseph to be effective and so strong so soon following the unexpected passing of his mom in Antigua, points to his relationship to God and the effects of your prayers on his behalf.

Prayer Changes Things Last week was also a time when we prayed for many of our brethren afflicted with illnesses of one kind or another. Initial reports indicate that God has answered and continues to answer these requests according to His will. To explain, we prayed and were hoping that Pastor Keith Albury would be restored to good health. On your behalf, I traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to visit him and his wife last Thursday and Friday. I need not tell you that the journey was colored with some degree of anxiety as there were so many conflicting reports. Well, all of that changed when I saw him for myself and prayed with him. On Thursday, as I joined Sister Ann, his wife, in visiting Pastor Keith in the Intensive Care Ward at The Scottsdale Healthcare Center, he made me glad by opening his eyes or moving his head to let me know that he heard Ann and me. The following day, Friday, January 20, 2006 Pastors Leslie McMillan, Donny Edwards, Anson Albury and I teamed up to anoint Pastor Keith. Prior to the actual anointing, we prayed earnestly for cleansing and forgiveness, asking God to remove anything in our lives that might stand between us and God to prevent His healing and blessing Keith. However, God did not answer according to our request. You probably know by now that Pastor Albury died on Tuesday evening. We believe that God will take his family through this ordeal. The Administration and the Bahamas Conference family extend deepest sympathy to Sister Ann Albury, her sons and the other members of Pastor Albury’s family. Let us continue to lift them up in prayer.

Up-coming Events Brothers and Sisters, these concerns mentioned and those not listed here urge us to pray and to do so more intently. I ask that we make prayer a greater priority in our lives at all times. Finally, I call for your ongoing support for the various programs of our Conference. This includes the Cooking Seminar with Paula and Curtis Eakins at The Living Faith Church, Feb. 6 - 12, 2006. The special service for our Seventh-day Adventist Law Enforcement Officers and Civil Servants next Sabbath afternoon, Feb. 4, at 4:00 p.m. at Grant's Town, and the Adventist Trade Show for Business Owners and Professionals on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Grant's Town. Happy Sabbath! - Dr. Leonard A. Johnson, President, BC

First Pathfinder Conclave On Sunday, January 22, 2006, the Pathfinder Corporation held its first Pathfinder conclave. At this meeting, several key points were emphasized. About one hundred Pathfinders, Masterguides, Pathfinder directors, Adventurer directors and Counselors, attended the conclave. The youth director of the conference, Pastor Andrew Burrows and the various officers of the club expounded on different aspects of the pathfinder program. First, during the devotion period, the leaders were reminded that being a Pathfinder leader requires a life of service. A skit presented by Masterguides Delkissa Wood, Natasha Rufin and Adriel Hepburn and a short discourse by Chaplain, Elvardo Perpall, illustrated this.

After the welcome by Secretary Erika Perpall, and remarks by Pastor Burrows, the first session began. The Masterguide Coordinator and Parliamentarian, Rohan Creighton discussed Effective Pathfinder Leadership. He revealed the resources available and encouraged their use. This presentation was followed by “How to Stimulate Pathfinder Clubs in Bahamas Conference” presented by Science and Technology Officer, Lester Stuart. Impressively dressed in his full uniform, he differentiated between modernists and postmodernists.

Pathfinder coordinator, Barry Saunders, conducted the third session. After presenting trophies to clubs for outstanding performance at last year’s exhibition, he outlined the various pathfinder ceremonies from the induction service to investiture service. Following this, Pastor Burrows distributed Honors Charts to developing clubs and introduced the Youth Calendar of events for 2006. The president of the Corporation, Ray Jennings, discussed uniforms, flags and other pathfinder protocol.

Audley Mitchell, first Vice President, made the last presentation. He discussed the Youth Development Program. He reminded the officers that the purpose of the Pathfinder program is to spread the three angels messages.
At the end of the conclave elections were held to fill two vacancies. Marilyn Bonamy was elected Adventurer coordinator and Greta Kemp was elected Eastern Region pathfinder coordinator. Congratulations to both ladies and to the Corporation for their successes!
