Cuban SDA Church Leader Visits The Bahamas
Pastor and Mrs. FontaineThe officers of the Conference are very pleased to welcome to the beautiful shores of the Bahamas, Pastor Daniel Fontaine, president of the Cuban Union of Seventh-day Adventists, and Mrs. Fontaine. Their visit at this time is in response to our ministers and wives’ visit to Cuba in June of last year.

Since arriving, Pastor and Mrs. Fontaine have paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Janet A. Bostwick, and participated in a press conference, which was held at the Conference's office, yesterday, at 11 am. Today, he will be speaking at the Maranatha Church for the Divine service, and at a special service that is planned for the Centreville Church at 4pm. We are inviting all of our members to attend what promises to be an inspirational program as we listen to the report of what our Heavenly Father is doing through his people in Cuba. In addition, we requestMr. and Mrs. Jones, translator and Greek teacher at Adventist Seminary that you bring a love offering that would go toward assisting the work in that portion of the Lord's vineyard. There is much work to be done there, and financial assistance is greatly needed.

Also, in Nassau from Cuba is Coralia Jones Chapman, a librarian from the SDA Theological Seminary in Havana. Coralia is accompanied by her husband. They are special house guests of Brother George Kerr. Coralia has been instrumental in assisting many of our students in Cuba

Get Your Annual Marital or Family Check-up Just as we take the time to get a medical check-up to see if we are physically healthy, we can also get a a marital check-up to see how we are growing towards marital perfection.

An annual medical check-up is a way of preventing greater problems in the future, or recognizing developing situations that you might not be aware of. Similarly, having a marital check-up can help a couple become aware of habits, behaviors, or attitudes that might be potentially destructive to the relationship or how mother, fathers, and children are relating to each other. Or it can help to affirm each other in their marital joys. Call this week and make an appointment with Adventist Counseling Services for your annual marital or family check-up; its free. Each couple will be given a short marital survey, and if they wish an excellent marital inventory called ENRICH that helps couples to know their strengths and weaknesses in their relationship. Call today at 361-6355 to speak to your counseling psychologist and marriage and family therapist.- Barrington H. Brennen
