He will do It Again!
God knows What He Is Doing. Last
Sabbath at the Tentorium, God manifested His powers in
remarkable
and significant ways, resulting in scores of persons embracing His salvation
and being baptized. Today these newly baptized ones are rejoicing in the God
of their salvation. Unarguably, last week’s miracles point to a God who is
always reaching and seeking after His children, willing to do anything
except force us, to impart His grace. Additionally, it is clear that God’s
initiative in reaching the one hundred plus persons baptized last Sabbath
began years before. Could it be that it started with God apparently
“abandoning” one of His servants to a place called Brandon, in Canada? It
would appear so for it was way back in 1981 when Evangelist Alanzo Smith
ended up in this unpromising and difficult place to sell Christian
literature in order to secure necessary funds to defray his college
expenses. Logically speaking, it did not make sense, but God knew what He
was doing both for Evangelist Smith and for us at this crusade. He was
planning for us, and the experiences were necessary for this mission. After
hearing last Sabbath’s message, I know that you are convinced.
Yes, God knew what He was doing back then. In
fact, according to the prophet Jeremiah in his account of Jeremiah 1:.5, He
was planning for us before we were born. What a God! If only we would let go
and let God. He will also give us personal experience that we may join in
with Fanny Crosby and declare “This is my story, this is my song, praising
my savior all the daylong”. Get your story today. He Will Do It Again
The good news is that the story does not end
there, for today is a new Sabbath and as the saying goes, “New every morning
are the blessings of God.” God has another message and new experiences
today. Friend, member, visitor, your blessing has already been decided! Why
not receive it? How? You may ask. Just obey –whatever God through His word
and servant bids you do, JUST DO IT! The Psalmist reminds us that “Great
peace have they that love {God’s} law.” He simply wants the opportunity to
do something special for you, but you must allow Him to do so. Isn’t that
paradoxical, that God who is all powerful requires that we allow Him to save
us? Yes, that is so; for He does not force anyone against his will. However,
He spares no effort to save us; and today He will do it again. What a golden
opportunity for youth, adults, men and women to encounter God today! I
encourage members to pray as never before; to claim God’s miracles as never
before and to behold that which claimed as never before.
On A Sad Note I regret to announce
the passing of a former messenger of God who served our Conference, Pastor
Carlton Anderson. His remains will be laid to rest tomorrow following a
service at the University church in Mandeville, Jamaica. Pastor Jeremiah
Duncombe who recently hosted Pastor and Mrs. Anderson at his Men’s retreat
in South Andros, will attend the service. Your prayers are solicited for the
Anderson family. Also, we are encouraged to intercede on behalf of retired
Pastor Leon H. Browne, who is on the Intensive Care Ward. Of course, we must
not overlook the many members of our church who are also sick and in need of
our prayers and visits.

Dr. Albury’s Family Say Thanks
With heartfelt gratitude, we, Mrs. Ann Albury, Pastor Keith Anson
Albury, Alden & Brendon Albury and the entire family of the late Dr. Keith
Densel Albury extend our deep and sincere appreciation to the membership of
the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Bahamas for your wonderful
expressions of love, kindness and sympathy demonstrated in so many ways
during our recent bereavement. Whatever part you played to console us will
always be remembered as we face the future leaning on the everlasting arms
of God. We thank you and ask that you continue to remember us in your
prayers.
As we all seek to look for the silver lining
behind this dark cloud, we are comforted in the words penned by Ellen G.
White: “God never leads his children otherwise than they would choose to be
led, if they could see the end from the beginning, and discern the glory of
the purpose which they are fulfilling as coworkers with Him. All that has
perplexed us in the providences of God will in the world to come be made
plain. The things hard to be understood will then find explanation. The
mysteries of grace will unfold before us. Where our finite minds discovered
only confusion and broken promises, we shall see the most perfect and
beautiful harmony. We shall know that infinite love ordered the experiences
that seemed most trying.” ---The Faith I Live By, p.64.
But until then…let us continue to press toward the mark of the high calling
in Christ Jesus. Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour
of love. 1 Thess. 1:3 KJV. -The Albury & Brennen Family
Keith D. Albury Memorial Forever Learning Foundation
The Albury and Brennen families acknowledge with grateful
appreciation all who contributed to the Keith D. Albury Memorial Forever
Learning Foundation and sincerely thank you for assisting worthy students to
obtain a Christian education at our local Adventist schools and Northern
Caribbean University. This is only the nucleus of a vision that Pastor
Albury desired to have established to continue his legacy and interest in
the field of Christian education. Firstly, he wanted to ensure that Bahamian
students who could not afford a private education would have the opportunity
to receive one. Secondly, he wanted to assist in the capital development of
our church schools here in the Bahamas. We solicit your continued support as
we seek to develop this foundation in honor of his memory.
Veteran SDA police Officer Retired Following a
distinguished career in policing which spanned thirty-seven years,
Superintendent Teddy McDonald, a member of the Centerville church retired
from the Royal Bahamas Police Force on February 17, 2006. Elder McDonald
joined the Police Force in 1969 and has travelled throughout the Bahamas on
various assignments. Elder McDonald has held command position in
several key areas of the force including: Interpol Unit Complaints and
Corruption Branch and president of the Disciplinary Tribunal. Additionally,
he acted as A.D.C. to three governors-general: Sir Henry Taylor, Sir
Clifford Darling and Sir Orville Turnquest. He says, "I have had some
memorable experiences as a police officer, but my most rewarding experience
was lecturing to young officers.
These occasions which gave me the opportunity
to share my knowledge with other people, were always to my satisfaction and
their benefit. For the last fifteen years, I have been assigned as one of
the lecturers for the promotional examinations, and it was always a joy to
see officers successfully completing their exams and being elevated to
higher ranks."
Elder McDonald thanks God for keeping him safe during the very challenging
years on the Police Force. He also thanks his family, especially his wife,
Salomie, for their loyal support and understanding they have shown
throughout his very demanding tenure on the Force.
