Victor Constantine Cargill, the third of nine children, was born to Gladstone and Predetta Cargill, January 1, 1931, in Delvey, St thomas, Jamaica.  After is high school and college education in Jamaica, he was called in 1968 to work in the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventist as a pastor.  He ministered in several islands of the Bahamas and was well loved and respected.

It was during March 1988 while conducting a crusade on the island of Eleuthera, that Pastor Cargill was stuck by an illness the robbed him of his muscular functions.  He had to learn to talk all over, but did not regain his ability to walk.  Praise the Lord, he learnt to sit up and could do so for six hours at at time each day.  Despite this illness, his mental acumen never diminished for a moment.

On April 17th 2003 at 8 a.m. Pastor Cargill fell asleep at his home.  He will be tenderly and forever missed by his devoted wife: Olga and one daughter:  Kerry Ann.

The service was held at the Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sunday, April 27, 2003 at 1:00 P.M.  The eulogy was given by Pastor Silas McKinney.  The internment was at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, John F. Kennedy Drive, Nassau.
