| [July 2007] The weekend
of July 20 – 22, 2007 was very special for the brethren in the North
Andros District of Seventh-day Adventist. During that weekend,
Pastor Mark Ewen and the Lowe Sound Seventh-day Adventist Church
hosted a “Stewardship Weekend”. On Friday at sunset, worship began
with a short song service, prayer, and the introduction of our
guest. After the formalities, we went straight into a powerful
PowerPoint seminar entitled “7 Biblical Principles of Stewardship”.
This set the stage for the weekend as we learnt that stewardship is
a spiritual matter and involved our entire lifestyle. On Sabbath
morning, Elder Deveaux spoke on the topic “Trash Analysis” which was
well received. The weekend ended on Sabbath afternoon with a lively
presentation on “Budgeting”, where it was shown to all in attendance
that we allow or money to control us, instead of controlling our
money. We look forward to the next Stewardship Weekend with eager
anticipation! - Pastor Mark Ewen

[May 2007] On the weekend
of May 4 – 6, 2007 the Exuma Churches comprising both Mount Thompson
and Moss Town held a Stewardship emphasis weekend. The Bahamas
Conference Stewardship Director, Elder Kenny Deveaux and the
Stewardship Director of West Indies Union, Dr. Wendell McMillan were
both invited to participate in this stewardship weekend. On Friday
night, Dr. Wendell McMillan led out in a brief discourse using 3
John 1:2 “Beloved I wish above all things, that thou mayest prosper,
and be in health, even as you soul prospereth”, as his text and
theme for the weekend. Dr. McMillan reminded the brethren that God’s
wish for them is to prosper, be in health and finally save their
souls. For the divine hour, Dr. McMillan conducted a workshop
entitled “God’s Plan For Me in The 21st Century and Beyond”.
This took the form of 13 questions from
the Bible that traced the fundamental aspects of Stewardship from
“creation to present”. For the Adventist Youth hour, a “Family
Finance Seminar” was conducted using Dr. McMillan’s book “12 Baskets
of economic Survival” as the textbook. Special commendations are
given to Pastor Keith Anson Albury, officers and members of the Moss
Town and Mt. Thompson churches for a well planned program |
