Zanda & Nicole BonamyZanda Y. Bonamy, 19, a graduate of Government High and the College of the Bahamas, is currently a student at the University of Brighton, Brighton, East Sussex, England. She is studying for Bachelors degree of Engineering in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering.    Nicole S. L. Bonamy, 23, Zanda’s sister, is at the same university in London, and graduate from the same high school. She is studying for the masters degree in pharmacy. Zanda and Nicole are members of the Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church. Zanda’s hobbies are surfing the internet, reading, playing the flute and listen to gospel music, and writing poetry. Nicole’s hobbies are traveling, reading, graphic design, and gardening. Their parents are Eugene and Eleanor Bonamy. Zanda’s goal is to become a chartered engineer and own her own company. Dollisha H Johnson Summer Feature. The student of the day is Dollisha Hope Dollisha JohnsonJohnson, 19, a graduate of Sir Jack Hayward High School, Freeport Grand Bahama. She is currently a student at The College of the Bahamas, Nassau campus. She is studying for the degree in Biochemistry. Her goal is to become a Pediatrician. Her hobbies are reading, singing, writing, surfing the internet, and making new friends. She a member of the Eight Mile Rock Seventh-day Adventist Church in Grand Bahama where she serves as the Adventist Youth Secretary and sings in the youth choir. Virginia A. B. Romer  Student of the day is Virginia Alicia Bissette Romer, a 1979 graduate of Bahamas Academy, and student at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Virginia just completed the course work for the PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. She plans to complete her dissertation and graduate by 2003. Virginia completed the course over a few summers. She works as a Guidance Counselor at the A. F. Adderley Junior High Public School. In 1999, Virginia also completed her masters degree in educational and developmental psychology from Andrews University.. She is a member of the Johnson Park Seventh-day Adventist Church and serves as a teacher in the Kindergarten Sabbath School, and directs the Children’s Choir. Virginia loves to sing and teach children. She is a single parent to one child (pictured), Eduardo Romer-Rolle, who graduated from Bahamas Academy in June of this year. He will be attending Volunteer State Community College, Nashville Tennessee where he will be studying accounts.

 

 


 

 

Amber Pratt (affectionately known as "Delcine") 19, is a graduate of Bahamas Academy. She is a second-year student at College of The Bahamas, Freeport Campus. She is presently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at The College of the Bahamas.  

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Nashanda M. Smith, 18, a graduate of Bahamas Academy, will begin her college life this fall (August 2002) at Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville, Jamaica. She will be doing a major in Business Administration, and a minor in Information Systems. Her goal is to obtain at least a master degree in Business Administration and to own her own business. Nashanda is a member of Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her hobbies are singing, meeting people, making friends, listening to music, and craft making. She is the eldest of three daughters to Pastor Michael and Lynn Smith.

 


 

Opal Albury, 18, is a graduate of Bahamas Academy, and a freshman this year at Southwestern Adventist University, Keene, Texas. She will be studying for a degree is Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing and E-Commerce. After completing her degree at Southwestern she is planning to study for a degree in family law to become a lawyer. Her hobbies are surfing the internet, talking with people, and making  new friends. She is a member of living faith seventh-day Adventist Church. She is the last child of Laura Albury.

 


 

 

 

Terry A. Tanis, 19, is a graduate of Governors Harbor Public High School, on the island of Eleuthera. He will be a freshman this fall (August 2002) at Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville Jamaica. Terry will be doing majors in information systems and business law. His goal is to obtain a doctorate in business law in England. Terry spent most of his life in James Cistern, Eleuthera, where he was very active in the Adventist Church there. During the past year he lived in Nassau and became actively involved in the New Providence Seventh-day Adventist Church. Terry is a very energetic young man who loves serving the Lord. His parents are Barbara and Julian Tanis. His bobbies are basketball, baseball, playing with stingray fish, meeting people, and socializing with friends.

 


 

 

John Garfield Carey, 29, a graduate of the Bahamas Academy, is a senior architectural student at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. He traveled with his class recently to France and other European countries to experience the world of master architectural designs. His goal is to become a world class architectural engineer in his own company, and to live in his own house on a hilltop overlooking a lake or ocean. Garfield is a dedicated Christian young man who loves to serve the Lord. He is a member of the Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church, Nassau, Bahamas. When home for the vacation he gets busy serving his church. He is a deacon, Masterguide, and plays the trombone in the Pathfinder Band. Garfield is the second of two sons to Dr. John and Shezarah Carey of Nassau. His brother is John Gerald Carey, the new Adventist member of parliament. His hobbies are playing the trombone, going to the beach, watch basket, softball, racquetball, reading, drawing and sketching, surfing the Internet, and fixing computers. Edveen C. Godet 17, a graduate of Bahamas Academy, is a freshman at The College Edveen Godetof the Bahamas, Nassau. She is doing a degree in Secondary Education. Her goal is to obtain her masters degree in Biology and become an excellent Biology teacher. Edveen is a very talented Christian young woman. She is a junior pianist and organist at the Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church and very active in youth programs. Edveen is a deeply spiritual young woman who enjoys sharing Christ with others. Her hobbies are reading, running, debating tough issues, and music. She is a member of the Hillview Church. Her parents are Loretta and Edward Godet.

 


 

 

Rory L. Major, 21, a graduate of the Bahamas Academy, is a senior at Oakwood Rory MajorCollage, Huntsville Alabama. He is completing degrees in Elementary Education and Speech Pathology. His goal is to become a Certified Speech Pathologist. After completing his degree at Oakwood, he will be going to Loma Linda, University, Loma Linda, California, to obtain his master degree and certification in Speech Pathology. His goal is to help children who have difficulty with language and speech development. While at Oakwood, Rory serves as one of the college president’s representatives called "The President's Ambassadors." These persons represent the president when visitors come to the campus, and during other activities. He is also a United Student Movement Senator, and is involved in the Allied Health Club.  Rory's hobbies are reading and soccer. He is the second of three sons to Keith and Linda Major. He is an active member of the Johnson Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, New Providence, Bahamas.

 


 

 

Keith Anson Albury, 21, is a graduate of Bahamas Academy, and a senior Business and Religion student at Oakwood College. His goal is to obtain graduate degrees in Health Care Administration and Religion. Anson is the President of Oakwood College International Student Organization, constituting 40 countries (OCISO). Anson envisions himself making a significant contribution to the health care system in the Adventist Church and becoming a vibrant minister of the gospel. He is the eldest of three sons to Pastor Keith and Ann Albury. His hobbies are meeting people, and surfing the Internet. He is a member of the Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church, New Providence. Anson is a dedicated Christian young man who loves to share his faith with others.

 


 

Shonet A. Brown, 21, a graduate of Bahamas Academy, just completed four years at Oakwood College, Huntsville Alabama. She obtained two associate of arts degrees, one in Physical Therapy and the other as Physicians Assistant. While at Oakwood College, Shonet was a member of the College Choir, the Allied Health Club, Science Club and International Students Club. Shonet will be going on to Howard University this fall to earn a graduate degree as a physician assistant. She is a member of the Centreville Seventh-day Adventist Church and the third daughter to David and Pansy Brown. Her bobbies are reading, swimming, and singing.  Shonet loves the Lord and has an eternal smile that shines through her beautiful character.

 


 

Veola Sophia Simms , 20, is a student at Kean University, New Jersey. She is a third-year student in the business administration with emphasis in management and marketing. Veola is a member of the Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church, Nassau. Her hobbies are traveling, computers, meeting people, singing, cosmetology.   Veola is the younger sister to Tiffany and daughter of Vincent and Etta Simms, lay leaders in Berea Church. Veola is a fun loving Christian young lady.

 

 


 

 

Anastacia S. Ferguson, 20, is a graduate of Bahamas Academy and The College of The Bahamas. She earned her associate degree in Spanish and Communication. She is planning to go to Canadian Union College, Canada, in a few months to continue her studies. She will be pursuing degrees in Spanish and Religion. Anastacia wants to be a Spanish teacher and translator. She is also hoping to go into ministry. Her bobbies are writing, reading, drawing, and practicing her Spanish. She is a member of New Providence Seventh-day Adventist Church, Nassau, and serves as an Adventist Youth assistant leader. Anastasia is the daughter of Angela and Wilfred Ferguson.

 


 

 

Carlisa L. Wright, 18, is a graduate of Bahamas Academy and a music major at The College of the Bahamas. She is planning to attend Northern Caribbean University in August 2002.  Her goal is to become a university music professor and department head.  Carlisa is a lovely Christian young lady.  She is a member of Centreville Seventh-day Adventist Church and serves as youth choir leader,  deaconess, assistant Adventist Youth leader, and Sabbath School Superintendent.   Her hobbies are singing, reading, traveling, and playing the piano.   She is the daughter of Carlton and Audrey Wright.   Her email address is love_2_sing01@hotmail.com

 

 

Tiffany Raquel Simms, 21, is a student at Kean University, New Jersey. She is a third-year student in the primary education program with a minor in counseling. Tiffany is a member of the Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church, Nassau. Her hobbies are reading, traveling, surfing the Internet, tennis, watching basketball, and meeting people. Tiffany is the daughter of Vincent and Etta Simms, lay leaders in Berea Church.  Tiffany is a wonderful Christian young woman with a goal to become the best in all her endeavors.  She loves serving her Lord and sharing Christ with others.
