Territory of the Bahamas Conference

 
The Bahamas consists of 2500 islands and islets located between Cuba and southeast Florida and expanding 100,000 square miles of Atlantic Ocean.  Twenty-seven of these island are where the seat of the Government is located.   The other island are uninhabited or are sparely populated.   The Bahamas obtained independence from England on July 21, 1973.  See the Bahamas.  The Adventist message started in the Bahamas in 1893.  (See History)   As of January 10, 2003, the Adventist church in the Bahamas (formally known as the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists) was divided in two fields: 
 
1.  The South-Central Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists
2.  The North Bahamas Mission of Seventh-day Adventists
 
The South-Central Bahamas Conference consists of the following islands:
New Providence
Andros
Cat Island
Eleuthera
Exuma
Long Island
San Salvador
Inagua
Mayaguana
 
The North Bahamas Mission consists of the following islands:
Grand Bahama
The Abacos
Bimmini Islands
Berry Islands
