These awards may be viewed in the lobby of the Adventist Headquarters in Nassau.

 

Award-Winning Web Site

On Thursday night, September 18, 2003, the first Annual Web Awards was held at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel, Nassau. There were forty-eight sites entered, and the Bahamas Conference was one of two religious sites in the contest. We won two awards: The "People’s Choice Award (plaque) for the Non-Tourism category, and the People’s Choice Award (Trophy) from among all four categories.  

Duke Wells, the coordinator of the event, co-owner of B2B (Bahamas Business), said the Bahamas Conference web site is a very good and well designed site. He also indicated that the site is very user friendly and very active. He said that the Bahamas Conference site is a very outstanding site, even more outstanding than many of the business sites entered into the contest. We praise God. We attribute this success to the friends of Internet Ministries who frequent the site each week to read the up-to-date news and information. Overall, the Bahamas Conference site came second behind H. G. Christie Bahamas Real Estate. Out of 48 organizations, we were one of five organizations that won two awards.

We praise God that our site came out on top in this category. We are certain the many people from around the world are being blessed by our site. Already for the year 2003 we have surpassed our goal and have reached more than 2.1 million hits from more that 25,500 individuals from over 100 countries.

The other religious organization that entered the contest in the Armature Designed Category was Holy Cross Anglican Church. To be participating in this contest, was a unique way of witnessing. It exposed the work of the Adventist CSeptember 19, 2003hurch to the Bahamas through our use of technology.

TRADE SHOW

In addition to participating in the Web Awards, the Bahamas Conference also were involved in the Business Trade Show sponsored by the Web Awards coordinator. We were the only religious organization participating in the show. It gave us exposure and a wonderful opportunity to network with Bahamian business professionals.
