After a successful
evangelistic series entitled “Countdown to the End Campaign” which
was held January 17 to February 20, 2010 in the Cayman Islands Conference,
205 persons were baptized as a new church was organized. The preacher for
the series was Pastor Shian O’Conner, Family Ministries Director and
Public Affairs & Religious Liberty Director
of the Cayman Islands Conference.
Pastor Eric D. Clarke,
president of the Cayman Island Conference said that “it was our joy of
having established a new congregation on Sabbath 20 February, 2010.” He
said that “the Executive Committee of the Cayman Islands Conference met on
Thursday, February 18, 2010 and approved the establishment of a new
congregation, the Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor Shian
O'Connor as the new pastor. The new congregation worship in the auditorium
of one of the local government schools and efforts are ongoing to lease
property for the erection of a church.
The crusade series is online at
countdowntotheend.net or justintv/caymanconference.org
Pastor Clarke stressed that “the love, unity and excitement was contagious
as new members were integrated into the family and shared their testimonies
of how God used Pastor O’Connor to meet their needs and bring conviction to
their hearts.
According to the our source from Cayman Islands, Pastor Sethres Dixon served
as Assistant Evangelist and Pastor Caple Thompson served as campaign manager
for the successful series of meetings. The Cayman Conference is diverse
with two Spanish churches, a Filipino church and twelve English speaking
churches. For the first two months of 2010, 220 persons have been baptized
which is 76% of our baptismal goal for the Conference. See photos

San Salvador High School and a member of the the Cockburn Town Seventh-day
Adventist Church was awarded as San Salvador’s Teacher of the Year
2009-2010. There were services on Sabbath February 13, 2010 at the

Ralph. She teaches at the San Salvador Public High School.
Various civic leaders came to show
their gratitude for her service. Speaking at both services was the

is the one who is truly molding lives for the future generation. He also
used the occasion to reaffirm Abigale Ralph and the other teachers to look
beyond the trials they might face as teachers and continue to educate for
service not only in this world but the world to come. Pastor Green called
for parents, teachers, and religious and civic leaders to work together to "Mold
the Future Generation" when he echoed the school motto "Together We
Can".
The Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists takes this opportunity to
publicly congratulate our Abigale Ralph, a companion in ministry. See
