Adventist World Youth Leader to Visit the Bahamas in November
Baraka MugandaThe Seventh-day Adventist Church World Youth Leader, Pastor Baraka Muganda, will visit the Bahamas November 27 - 30, 2002.   This weekend promises to be an exciting time for the Adventist Church in the Bahamas, for it is the first time Pastor Muganda will be visiting the Bahamas.   He  is a native of Tanzania, Africa and is responsible for coordinating the youth work for the Adventist Church in 210 countries around the world.   He is an enthusiastic, youthful leader with a deep love for youth.   

The Muganda Family. Pastor Muganda is a family man and a lover of youth.  He is married to Anna Martin who serves as a General Conference Assistant Librarian.  Pastor and Mrs. Muganda have three daughters. Diana is working with a computer firm, Tanya is a junior in college, and Anita is a high school senior.

Dr. Muganda graduated from Solusi College, Zimbabwe,  Africa with a BA in Theology in 1973.  He then went on to Andrews University, Michigan and received a Masters degree in Religion and a Doctorate in Education in 1980 and 1983 respectively.

Dr. Muganda has served the church as an Assistant Union Evangelist, a Field Youth, Education, Sabbath School, and Communication Director, as well as a Union Youth, Education, and Communication Director in Tanzania Union. At the Eastern Africa Division he served as Youth Director and Ministerial Secretary from 1985 to 1995. In 1995 Dr. Muganda was elected to the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists to serve as the World Youth Director. He has held several evangelistic campaigns and has been instrumental in bringing many people, especially youth, to Christ. He loves the youth of the church and has a burden to see all of them saved in God’s kingdom.

Dr. Muganda is a lovely man of God. He is always friendly and smiling. He is a creative, down-to-earth leader. He has lots of energy and has no problem keeping up with the power-packed lifestyle of the youth.  We welcome Dr. Muganda to the Bahamas.
